Rev. Jeff Sheffield

There is a song that says, "I'm just a nobody telling everybody about somebody that can change anybody!"

Jeff was born in Winter Haven, Florida, 5th generation Floridian of ancestors who came to Florida as Baptist missionaries before the Civil War. He is a graduate of Winter Haven High School and Troy University, Troy, Alabama. His parents are committed Christians and he has been in church since before he was born.

Jeff accepted Jesus into his heart at the age of 8 and was baptized at First Baptist Church of Eagle Lake, Florida and began serving as Minister of Music and Youth while still in University at Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Jack, Alabama.

Upon graduating from the university, he accepted the full time ministry call from Eastside Baptist Church, Haines City, Florida and then First Baptist Church, Jasper, Florida. Finally, Palm View First Baptist Church in Palmetto, Florida extended the call to ministry in 1984 where he served as Minister of Music and Youth.

Jeff was ordained to the Gospel Ministry and later as Worship and Education Pastor until retirement after 36 years to care for his now 93 year old father. Throughout his ministry he has served in many leadership capacities in Baptist Associations and with Florida Baptists as part of the Florida Worship Choir and Orchestra.

He is the proud father of two sons, themselves serving in different forms of ministry and eight grandchildren. Since retirement, he has been assisting in volunteer worship and other ministries at First Baptist Eagle Lake and various other churches across central Florida with worship ministry where needed.

Scriptures says, "Only fear the Lord and serve him faithfully with all your heart. For consider what great things he has done for you." (1 Samuel 12:24)
